Featured Work: There Will Be Rest

The final song of an in-progress work, Threnody for Sara, a quasi-biographical song cycle for high voice which depicts the mental health decline and eventual suicide of 20th century American poet Sara Teasdale. The cycle sets text from her final poetry collection, published posthumously after her death. The text of this piece is the final poem of that collection, and widely considered to have been her suicide note.

Performed 12/5/25 by: Max Niedziejko (tenor) & Matthew Kiple (piano)
